ACLU SPEAKS TO THE LEAGUE ABOUT CIVIL LIBERTIES

Thursday, May 17, Bend Community Center at 5:30 p.m.

"Prescription for a Safe America: Restore Lost Freedoms and the Rule of Law." While some would argue that we must compromise our basic freedoms in order to be safe, ACLU of Oregon Executive Director David Fidanque argues that the opposite is true.  Fidanque says that we can only ensure safety for Americans at home and abroad if our government restores the liberties that have been undermined during the past six years.

David Fidanque has worked for the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon since 1982 and has served as its Director since 1993.  In addition to his duties in Oregon, Fidanque is also Chair of the ACLU Executive Directors Council, which helps coordinate planning and strategy for civil liberties activities carried out jointly by the National ACLU and its 53 affiliates around the country.

Please join us on Thursday, May 17th at the Bend Community Center, 1036 NW 5th St., Bend. There will be refreshments at 5 p.m. with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m. and lasting to approximately 7 p.m.
