Democracy Net is a project of the League of Women Voters to provide a variety of information on issues and other matters of interest to voters. Community Resources: The official Deschutes County web site has information about government and related matters. It also has information for recreational activities, the arts and culture, and places of interest for visitors. Deschutes Public Library: This link will lead you to the home page for the library's web site. Click on "branch libraries" near the top-center of the screen to information about local branches. The county web site has a page regarding the county's concerns about animals. Included in this information are links to primary non-profit organizations involved in the care of animals: The Bend Spay and Neuter Clinic provides a vital service to the community with its humane approach to control of the local animal population. The Humane Society of Central Oregon provides adoption, rescue and educational services for animals and pet lovers in the Bend and southern county areas. The Humane Society of Redmond offers services similar to those of its related organization in Bend with its area of service in the northern area of Deschutes County.
